CpuIdle Extreme Update Released (10.06.2007)

CpuIdle test version for Windows Vista is now available. Please download the test version here. This version contains the following fixes:

  • added support for Windows Vista
  • added the long-awaited support for SpeedFan CPU temparature monitoring

A CpuIdle Extreme update has been released. This version contains the following fixes:

  • improved CPU detection for Athlon64, Sempron and Opteron
  • improved CPU detection for Pentium D and Centrino
  • partial rewrite of chipset detection routines

CpuIdle Extreme Update Released (12.05.2004)

A CpuIdle Extreme update has been released. This version contains the following fixes:

  • improved support for nForce2 chipsets- this should allow cooling on all nForce2 boards that couldn't achieve any temperature decrease before

CpuIdle Extreme has been released. This version brings the following new features:

  • added Find Window function that allows to disable CpuIdle when certain windows (applications) are running, e.g. mp3 encoder

CpuIdle Extreme Alpha 2 (28.08.2003)

2nd test version of CpuIdle Extreme has been released. Fixes:

CpuIdle Extreme Alpha (30.06.2003)

The first test version of CpuIdle Extreme has been released. These new features will enhance CpuIdle usability:

CpuIdle 6.0a Released (27.03.2003)

CpuIdle 6.0a has been released. This version brings the following new features:

  • added chipset support for the latest VIA southbridges, enabling C2 cooling mode
  • fixed an issue when waking up from hibernation mode (thanks to Alex van Kaam)

CpuIdle 6.0 Released (20.12.2002)

After extensive testing, CpuIdle 6.0 has finally been released. Version 6 includes these exciting new features:

  • support for MotherBoard Monitor 5.2
  • added chipset support for VIA KT333, KT400
  • added chipset support for SiS 735 and 745
  • added chipset support for NVidia NForce1
  • completely rewritten cooling code

New features in the beta version:

    • several users reported that CpuIdle 6 later beta versions do not provide the cooling as v5.9

  • added support to run CpuIdle as service:
  • Running CpuIdle as service can now be achieved using a third party program called FireDaemon. A service definition to run CpuIdle as service is included as part of the installation. To enable the CpuIdle service perform the following steps:

    1. Install and start FireDaemon
    2. Load the Service definition into FireDaemon. The definition if contained in the CpuIdle folder in the FireDaemon Service Definition.xml file
    3. start the service, make sure CpuIdle is not running at that time

  • rebuilt documentation
  • added support to install for one or all users of the machine
  • added Pentium 4 Mobile support
  • fixed Windows XP Style support
  • fixed tray icon transparency for numerical display

CpuIdle 6.0 Alpha 4

CpuIdle 6 is the first cooling software supporting the SiS 735/745 chipsets! This breakthrough in CPU cooling could be achieved through the tremendous support from Dorian/Absurd. Thanks!

New features in the CpuIdle 6 test version:

  • added support for latest P4 processors (fixed in test version 3)
  • added support for VIA KT333 chipset
  • added support for SiS 735/745 chipset
  • added Windows XP Style support
  • when CpuIdle is started twice no error message will be displayed, but the first instance will be brought up (ie. for use with the "Hide" feature)
  • added support for latest MBM 5.1 (fixed in test version 2) - older versions of MBM can no longer be supported:
